Gerard Moore
President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Moore is a founder of Santera and led the acquisition of Phoenix in 2021 and he is the largest individual shareholder. Responsible for the strategic direction and operational execution of the company he is particularly focused on business development. Mr. Moore is an experienced CEO with a track record in delivering significant growth and entry to new markets. Prior to Phoenix, Mr. Moore was founder and CEO of a number of technology companies including Spectel which was later sold to Avaya. He holds an electronic engineering degree and an MBA from University College Dublin and a master’s degree in engineering from Trinity College Dublin
Jonathan O’Connell
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. O’Connell, a founder of Santera and significant shareholder in Phoenix and will serve as CFO of Phoenix with overall responsibility for finance and financial strategy. Mr O’Connell has over 25 years’ experience as a CFO in growing technology and biotech companies including fundraisings, IPOs and trade sales. Prior to Phoenix, Mr O’Connell was CFO of a number technology companies including Spectel, which was sold to Avaya, Escher Group, a London listed technology company and Trinity Biotech, a Nasdaq listed company. He is a Chartered accountant and a graduate of business from Trinity College Dublin.
Terry Chen
Chief Technology Officer
Mr. Chen is a veteran of Phoenix Technologies and rejoined as CTO Emeritus in March 2021. He started as a senior engineer in 1991 and continued to grow until he reached the role of CTO. Prior to Phoenix, Mr. Chen began his BIOS engineering career working for a Taiwanese PC ODM. Mr. Chen earned his MSEE degree from Penn. State University.
Michelle Lu
Chief Revenue Officer
Ms. Lu is responsible for Global Sales & Field Operations in Phoenix. Before her current role at Phoenix Ms. Lu oversaw numerous operations at 2Wire/DSL Gateway. Prior to that she held various positions at HP/Compaq/DEC. Ms. Lu holds two degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and an MBA from Fitchburg State University.
Jim Mortensen
Vice President of Engineering
Mr. Mortensen is responsible for Phoenix’s Global R&D team and is Head of Engineering. He coordinates with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Engineering to align Phoenix’s global engineering efforts with company strategy, vision and objectives. Mr. Mortensen also heads the dedicated Phoenix Security Team where he manages discovery, investigation and response to security vulnerabilities in Phoenix firmware and tools. He works closely with Phoenix partners to quickly communicate and provide solutions for new and emerging security threats. Mr. Mortensen has over 15 years of boot firmware experience with both UEFI and legacy BIOS, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Computing and Software Systems with magna cum laude honors from University of Washington.
